Gotta a little help from Robert

This computer stuff is really kicking my butt!! Thank God for Rob! He always knows what to do to fix my screw-ups--and he is always so generous with his time. I do think that the more I work with them the better my skills will get. If any of you out there have a different take on the matter--please, let me live in ignorance!!!
We are celebrating Jessica's birthday tomorrow night. I can not believe that my baby girl is 32. It seems like just yesterday that she was Camaryn's age. Lordy, I am getting OLD!!!!! We are celebrating early because she is off to Chicago to see an old college friend. Hunting season starts this coming weekend, which means that I will be foot loose and fancy free for about 13 days. I have a few projects planned, so I will be very busy. Of course, I will be working by day and projecting by night. I have not decided which project I will do first--I have the rest of the week to think on it. I did recover a dining chair this afternoon. It was a simple job and didn't take long. I used a piece of tanned deer hide, boy does it look good--even if I do say so myself. I think I will go and start putting away "stuff" so I will be ready to paint towards the end of the week.

THIS MAKES ME CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just finished writing a fabulous blog. The creative juices were flowing and I was writing to beat the band. I saved the piece as draft and now I CAN NOT FIND THE DAMN THING!!!!! F---k !!! Sorry to those with sensitives who can not manage profanity. I will continue searching and call my fabo son-in-law who is so computer savvy it is sin--for advice. I was on a roll, too. I was talking about my week at school and how it ended. This afternoon, a kid came to me and asked to be changed out of the class. I really understood how he felt--I want to go with him. It is a very difficult class to say the least. First of all, there are 32 kids in the class. THAT IS TOO MANY STUDENTS IN ONE CLASS. It makes me want to scream. Them, too!! It is very stressful. A few minutes later I watched another students brush tears away from his eyes and say "I am really stressed right now." I wanted to cry with him. There are so many wonderful kids in the class who want to do well and learn, but there are so many who are stressed by the chaos and the unmanagable number of students in that class. Hopefully, by Monday, things will be changed for the better. I really love this class and I want to do my best to teach them and I know that they want to do their best to learn, but neither of us can do much under these conditions. WELCOME TO THE TEACHING PROFESSION!!!!! I pray daily that I can maintain my patients.

Dandy's Place

What a great weekend. It was so nice and cool. I love this time of year when the weather changes to cool(almost cold) evenings and really balmy days. We really enjoyed a great visit with our neice Tracy and her beau, Devlon. He is a super nice young man.(Gosh, that is what an old lady would say.) I'm not there yet. I don't play in my purse like old ladies do. Anyway, it was very nice having grilled hamburgers with Linell and Ralph and meeting Devlon. This week is shaping up to be pretty good. I would really be happy if I could get all the grading caught up and entered into the computer. It must be finished by Friday. Gosh, I have a lot to do between now and then. My students are going to be shocked at their progress report grades. Lots of them are failing. They don't study for their vocabulary quizzes. Drat it all!!! I hope that they pull them out of the fire before the 6 weeks progress report comes out. I guess I worry about their grades more than they do. Ain't that always the way. I think that I am going to crawl into bed and put in a movie and forget about those silly kids for a while. Good night.

The Graduate

"Hear ye, hear ye: Master Jake Grimes, the illustrious chocolate lab puppy controlling the Grimes household, has graduated from Puppy Obedience School with an impressive final exam score of 88!! Was he the high point scorer in his class? No, a beagle had to excell with a score of 105--darn him. Kudos to Mom for faithfully taking him to class every Thrusday for the past 6 or 7 weeks and perwervering the embarrassment of a dog not always wanting to obey--leaving a "pile" inside Petsmart, etc. She is the greatest!!!
Now, if we can just get Jake to quit digging, and chewing up everything in the backyard, we will be happy. As a reward for his high score, I plan to take him to the vet to be neutered. Won't that make him happy??!!"

This report was written by Jake's male human--known as "Dad". I decided that I could not improve upon his prose and decided to use it word for word and give him credit(of course).
Jake really is a pretty smart puppy. He is so cute and lovable, even when he is sitting on me. He has this habit of walking up to you and sitting on your feet or leaning against you. That would not be so bad except that Jake must weigh 75 or 80 pounds. He is a bigggggg boy at almost 10 months old. I think that Jake and I will be good buddies this winter, during hunting season. I will probably buy him a LARGE cushion to sleep on, although he really loves being outside on the covered patio. I really wished that he would not pull up my banana trees, and then shred them. They have been in a very long time and I would like to keep them there. Knock on wood, he has not destroyed anything important from the patio, lately. Of course, I just jinxed myself by saying that, and I will go out tomorrow and he will have chewed down the table, or bench. Maybe I will go and give him a BIG bone to chew on all night. See ya.

Dandy's Place

I spent about two hours with my granddaughter, Camaryn. She is so busy and moving. She is exploring her world, now and also taking a glimpse of the outside world from her front door. She has some co-conspirators in Ashley and Simba. I think that they are planning a "break". They just have to figure out which of Daddy's tools will take down the door, then they are loose!!! The next thing that she needs is transportation.
It seems that she has become part "mountain goat", according to her Mommy. Mom, Dad, your days of calm are over!!!! She will add to your gray hair with arial acrobatics. So goes the world of toddlerhood.
Dandy thinks that she is the most fun playmate! I love her fearless spirit. She is a doll!!!!

Retirement from Education is LOOMING!!! YEAH ME!!!!!!

It is very hard to believe that I have been in the education business for 18 years!!! That means that in less than 5 years I can retire and begin doing something else--like painting, or writing, or decorating homes other than my own- That whole possibility is really exciting. Speaking of decorating--I have been painting the master bath and bedroom. I finished yesterday and boy does it really look great. I want to paint the others bedrooms as well. I have been going to model homes in my area to see what the latest trend in decorating is. I got some really great ideas. Of course, those models do not looked lived in like my house does. Of course, I live with a pack rat--love him dearly--but, he is still a pack rat. I have moved furniture around and I hope that I can make my house look not so cluttered and crowded. My girls think that is hopeless. I had today off and I really enjoyed puttering around and putting things back in order. I want tomorrow off too, however, I will have to settle with a 4-day week. I can do that. You know the more I think about retiring the better I like it. I had been mistaken about my years of service. I spent 6 years as a teacher's aid. I was only counting my years as a certified teacher. When I read my TRS statement more closely, I was thrilled.

By Golly I Think I've Got It! I was able to post twice in one night. My son-in-law, Robert (pronounced "Ro-bear") will be very proud of me.I hope!!!!

Dandy's Place

Well, I have been lost in blogger's hell or cyberspace, same thing. I am having a terrible time remembering how to post. I just posted something that made no sense whatsoever. I guess it is going to take lots of practice for me to get the complete hang of this. I see the pictures that other bloggers publish and I get quite jealous. This is my feable attempt to do some kind of writing to explain my ignorance with computers to the world of bloggers. At least this time I will have something written in the space and not just my blogger name and the date. I think that is a breakthrough. Now I have to go to google and ask what Freida's last name is. You know, the famous Hispanic artist!!! Here I go on another search. I'm outta here.
