Texas Lady

There is a very special Texas lady who will celebrate her 92nd birthday on Sunday. She is in the hospital right now suffering from a broken hip. I have known her for over twenty years. She was so accepting of me and mine when I married into the Grimes/Pipes family. Her name is Evelyn, but all of our children have always known her as "MeeMaw". Her traveling friends call her "The Sheriff ". I learned that yesterday, while visiting her in the hospital. Two of her traveling friends were there at the same time Kirk and I were and they shared that story with us. Kirk has always teased her about going out and dancing and partying. She would just laugh and say "I'm ready, let's go." You are very much loved by all of your family. Including us, who just kind of elbowed our way into your life. I hope you don't mind that we did. You are loved, Lady. Get well really soon.
